Air Route financially impracticable.

The Saigon-France line is the only air line

to Europe with which Hong Kong can at present establish

a useful connection but it is hoped that British interests

will in the near future put themselves in a position

to benefit by the concession which is now being asked

for.

Meanwhile without this concession it will be

impossible for Hong Kong to participate in the advantages

of any speedier postal connection with Europe.
